Is AI the end for design?

Making numerous website mock-ups for a client's approval is a laborious task that typically would either come at a cost of reluctant client or at the cost of the designer as speculative works. That is no longer true today with the advent of AI. As a graphic design organisation we use AI daily to improve our workflow and better understand our clients needs with speed and efficiency never experienced before. Here is a quick look at how I created these two conceptual designs using AI and the next steps I would employ to keep the cost low for the client that I call the 20/20 process.

I would spend 20 minutes talking with the client to gauge what their business was about and what they expect from their website in terms of their and their customers needs. I would then use image creation AI to quickly create 40 designs using keywords and phrases based upon earlier conversations with the client. The best two of these designs I would then put through Photoshop spending no more than 10 minutes each tweaking the images to best suit the designs I am going for. Below are two recent images I presented to a client of an accountancy firm.

I paid particular attention to the client's logo and to the banner imagery which closely resembles the image of my client. The banner imagery I would later take photographs fo the client and superimposed the face into these images similar to the process I employed to the portrait photographs that were generated by AI.

The advantage of creating the banners and the website mock-ups in AI is that they are unique experiences. Mixed Jungle is a CX design agencyand it is important to us to provide our clients with succinct experiences which many traditional website designers can only offer template "cookie-cutter" designs. These one-of-a-kind designs, and in this economy, it is only possible with the aid of artificial intelligence to keep costs down by retaining the look and feel of high-end design.
